Xinyu Hong is an Applied Scientist at Amazon, where he works on systems intelligence and information retrieval. Before that he was a data scientist at Enigma Technologies, where he built NLP models as well as the internal ML training system and other data workflows. He is also a certified AWS solutions architect.

Before joining industry, Xinyu used computational and experimental approaches to study bacterial gene regulation (publications).

Xinyu's interests include ML research and cloud engineering (serverless in particular), and has built several end-to-end ML applications/systems. Beyond work, he is fascinated by two questions: 1. From an engineering perspective, how to leverage cloud to help non-technical individuals build things and process data faster? 2. From a science perspective, how to leverage ML to accelerate research (currently focusing on genomics and literature processing)?

This website is built with serverless stack (static pages for front-end, AWS Lambda for back-end). It is updated on the first day of every month, if there's anything new.
